LES SAVOIR FAIRE DE LA MODE

Gold embroidery leaves the archive.
In Cervières, L’Orée—De fils en liens preserves the work of the grenadières: women who embroidered military uniforms, ceremonial dress and the costumes of French academicians from the nineteenth century to the 1980s.
The newly opened centre combines a museum, textile workshops and contemporary projects—including embroidered brooches developed with Paris label Macon & Lesquoy.
Heritage survives when it becomes creative material again.
